Am I an Indigo adult?

23 05 2008

This is a common question that many of us are asking. With all the information and misinformation available it can be very confusing to know exactly if you fit into some of these rigid specifications. The good news is you already know this (on a soul level) and if you are searching for clarification then its quite likely you are in fact part of the Indigo soul group that has been incarnating over a few 100 years. Another good thing about being an Indigo is you have nothing to prove to anyone, you don’t have to lead and you don’t have to be lead.

The book ‘Indigo Children’ by Lee Carrol & Jan Tober list ten distinctive traits in Indigo children:

1) They come into the world with a feeling of royalty.
2) They have a feeling of deserving to be here.
3) Self-worth is not a big issue.
4) They have difficulty with authority by ritual or without explanation.
5) They simply will not do certain things.
6) They get frustrated with systems that don’t require creative thought.
7) They often see better ways of doing things.
8) School is often difficult for them and they can seem anti-social.
9) They will not respond to emotional blackmail )
10) They are not shy in letting you know what they need.

You can read many books on the subject however since we are all unique you may not fit within all the characteristics. Nonetheless there are specific traits that you will share with other Indigo’s:

  • A desire to restore or improve the state of the world
  • A powerful empathy towards those in need
  • A dissatisfaction of the way the planet is being run
  • A strong sense that you are here for an important reason
  • A strong desire to express emotion through creativity
  • Always looking for ways to improve doing things

If you think you may be an indigo and want to be sure then I suggest reading:

Indigo Adults: Forerunners of the New Civilization

This is the book that I used to identify my Indigo traits.
